Dennis Peron wanted to sell an Oz for $5 yet he said others wouldn't let him. Dennis Peron at his Cannabis Buyers Club in SF CA in 1996 gave away one 1/8 every Friday to us members. Two kinds of marijuana people, one's that sell it and one's that have to buy it. Dennis gave it away.... be like Dennis Peron give it freely and maybe the high prices will come down to $5 an Oz.

Wow! What a Mensch! When I first moved to LA I was getting tons of weed samples and there happened to be some kind of political march right outside my apartment so I stood out and gave people joints. It was literally one of the best days of my life.

Clone Brothers Farm – Oregon

14th Licensed – And We’re Just Getting Started! 😄😍

Layne Nelson, 61

I just finished reading your blog today—really appreciated the depth and clarity. It’s refreshing to see someone out here telling the truth about the current state of the industry. 💯👍

I’ve been doing this a long time, and one thing’s clear: it doesn’t matter what state you’re in, corporate handling and inconsistent regulations have made it harder and harder for legacy growers to hold on to what really matters—the genetics. That’s why, for the past 10+ years, I’ve been preserving my own seed stock. No way I was letting go of my Old Boys—these strains are living history.

Legacy Strains We’ve Preserved:

Panama Red – That deep, smooth head high that just doesn’t exist in today’s over-bred hybrids. Pure sativa gold.

Durban Poison – Fast-growing, energizing, with that classic anise/licorice terp. It’s a workhorse and a favorite for a reason.

Lamb’s Breath – A Bob Marley staple. Rare, uplifting, cerebral, and super expressive when grown with love.

Jack Herer – One of the most balanced and complex hybrids ever created. Always a pleasure to grow and smoke.

Colombian Gold – Another old-school landrace sativa. Harder to manage indoors, but the reward is unmatched.

Gorilla Glue #4 – That sticky, heavy-hitter potency. It’s a newer classic, but one we preserve in its original form.

White Widow – That frosty, pungent, medicinal punch that made waves in the '90s.

Northern Lights – Still one of the most reliable indica strains for structure, yield, and resin production.

Over 150 More Flavors

We’ve gone deep into the vaults—collecting, crossing, and stabilizing over 150 strains that span from landrace classics to underground hybrids. We don’t chase hype—we preserve purity and power. It’s all about flavor, effect, resistance, and vigor.

Why Taproots Matter

We believe in seed-grown plants for one huge reason: taproots. That deep-reaching root system is like a lifeline—it anchors the plant, boosts resilience, and sets it up for optimal nutrient uptake. Compared to clones, seed-grown plants just have that extra oomph. Especially in outdoor and regenerative settings, taproots are the unsung heroes.

At Clone Brothers Farm

We’re not just growing weed—we’re preserving heritage, pushing the craft forward, and keeping it real. As the 14th licensed farm in Oregon, we’ve seen the ups, downs, and everything in between. But through it all, we’ve held tight to what matters: faith, family, fire genetics, and a love for the plant.

We do this for the culture. For the soil. For the next generation of growers who deserve access to real seeds—not watered-down hype genetics with no soul.

Check out this site: https://therealseedcompany.com/

Some very cool and obscure regional- Asian, Himalayan , Middle Eastern- seeds on offer.

We must prepare to grow our own as commercial cannabis wants nothing to do with 3 month + flowering cycles and relatively low yields.

Also, back in the 70's most of us were not smoking exotic landrace weed. We were poor and smoked Mexican brick weed which could be energizing and whacky or it could result in a comatose state where getting off the bed was a monumental task. We never really knew what we were getting. I think memories of the good old days and youth contribute a lot to the landrace mythos. Nevertheless I want to try growing some!

You can try 1906 pills. They're microdosed at 2.5 MG. They have all different kinds for sleep, anxiety, energy etc. They should be able to mail them directly to you since it's less than 0.3% THC. You can use this link and get a small discount I think. Let me know! https://1906.shop/catherinegoldbergasz

Thanks Much!!! Do you know if 1906 is grown in a non legal state like Tennessee? The cbd here is sativa hemp and for some reason I don’t tolerate it well but do occasionally enjoy a sativa grown in most legal states.

Do you have a podcast?

As a Ca CUA Patient that doesn't have to ever buy it in a licensed store going on 20 years. CA CUA patients can and should grow what they need to be supplied the cannabis medicine and never support a adult User's license store. Adult Use marijuana stores only care about the $$$$ just like the people they are teaching, big Pharma. They too only care about the 🤑. America has six States that supply real patients reimbursed cannabis medicine for work Comp pain patients. Yet CA State doesn't believe reimbursed mmj is great for the LIC Stores. Our CA Work Comp Ins would fund CA State patients if 1 Health Safety Code 11362.785(d) changed. Millions of CA pain patients would get funded Mmj in these licenses stores. Yet NORML or ASA doesn't think this is a great idea. So CA Work Comp pain patients don't have the replacement for Rx opiates and they find fentanyl on the streets. These opiate pain patients will someday have Rx marijuana by way of Jazz Pharma or someone else. So until Pain Patients in America get reimbursed for our Mmj, learn to grow to have. JP
