A Las Vegas Cannabis Adventure

When the fires in Los Angeles made things risky, I decided to leave the city for a few days and found myself in Las Vegas. As someone intrigued by unique cannabis experiences, I decided to check out Planet 13, home to the world's largest dispensary and an indoor cannabis consumption lounge, the Dazed Lounge. Spoiler: It was as over-the-top as Vegas itself—but in the best way possible.

The Journey Begins

Before heading to Planet 13, I had already experienced some Vegas cannabis culture with SMOKUS POCUS: A 420 Magic Show at Area 51 (highly recommend!). Conveniently, there’s a shuttle service between the two.

Walking into Planet 13, the first thing I noticed was how loud it was. If you’re sensitive to noise like I am, bring earplugs. Despite the volume, the vibe was quintessentially chill—friendly, mellow, and welcoming.

The “World’s Largest Dispensary”

The dispensary is massive—ridiculously massive—to the point where it feels more like a tourist attraction than a shopping experience. Signing in requires an iPad, and you’re texted a number when it’s your turn to meet with a budtender.

One thing I noticed: Nevada’s budtender certification process must be rigorous because they were impressively knowledgeable. My budtender gave me a detailed rundown of unique products, including:

• Mike Tyson Gummies (shaped like an ear with a bite taken out—yes, really).

• Revelry Smell-Proof Bags (both functional and stylish).

• A dinosaur-shaped bong that’s exactly as fun as it sounds.

  

I didn’t mind waiting for my turn—it gave me time to explore the gift shop, which had a variety of snacks and quirky items like every flavor of HoHo imaginable. I grabbed a protein bar for the road, but it’s safe to say you won’t leave empty-handed.

The Dazed Consumption Lounge

The lounge entrance itself is a vibe—you walk through a faux phone booth to get in. While reservations are recommended (something I learned the hard way), I was able to put my name down and keep exploring while I waited.

Inside, you can’t bring in outside products, but lockers are provided for your stash. There’s no cover charge, and you get 90 minutes to enjoy the lounge once seated.

A Chill Oasis

The menu was a highlight for me. They offer a wide range of microdosed drinks and products, designed to enhance your experience without overwhelming you. I ordered the Daily Grape, a sativa joint that promised an energizing, clear-headed buzz with a mild appetite-suppressing effect. It was the perfect choice for a daytime visit.

For those who want to indulge, Zenco vaporizers are available to rent (and were much more popular than Puffcos). There’s even the option to rent out private rooms with couches and TVs—perfect for locals who, I’m told, come here to watch sports while smoking.

I found a quiet corner with a video game table, which was ideal for escaping the noise. For social butterflies, there’s a munchie cart that offers every snack imaginable—sweet, salty, sour, savory, and even minty treats.

Aesthetic Highlights

The chandelier bongs, a collaboration with GravLabs, stole the show for me. They were stunning pieces of functional art that truly embodied the spirit of the lounge.

Accessibility & Cost

One of the most surprising aspects was the price. For a lounge experience in Las Vegas, my total for a joint was just $23—significantly more affordable than I expected. Keep in mind, the lounge only accepts debit cards or cash, so plan accordingly!

I went in the early afternoon to avoid the crowds, but I can imagine it gets packed at night. Luckily, the lounge is open 24/7, so you can find a time that works for your vibe.

The Dazed Lounge at Planet 13 offers a unique, approachable cannabis experience that’s perfect for those who don’t drink alcohol or simply want to try something new in Vegas. Between the stellar customer service, innovative products, and welcoming atmosphere, it’s a must-visit for cannabis enthusiasts.
