My all-time favorite was Kona Gold, it was a silvery white looking cannabis, my second favorite was Panama Red, but my all-time favorites were surfboard primo 3 oz surfboard hash, in the original honey oil ether base honey oil, you could take that honey on and roll it on Thai stick with a little sprinkle of hash on there and you'd have a honey oil Thai stick hash joint that would knock pre-rolls out of the box today, I'll guarantee it I used to roll at least 20 30 a day, from 9th grade to 12th grade, and it was a whole lot cheaper back then,
My birthday is 4/25/57 I grew up in Cypress went to JF Kennedy high School, of crescent and Walker, boy were those some crazy times, we never waited, three fingers of whatever they were selling, the most I paid was 15 bucks for an ounce, of all the names I mentioned, the one that cost the most was Kona Gold it was 25 bucks and people thought that was too much back then, these cannabis shops they have now are complete ripoffs, unless you know what you're looking for and know what it is by looking at it, because 95% of the shops won't let you smell it or touch it before you buy it, but Acapulco Gold was high on the list, if you can imagine three fingers of Acapulco Gold for 10 bucks an ounce, that's all I paid for it, driving a yellow van across the Mexican border that said Jesus saves on the side with a secret compartment inside the van, and for years it came across the border all the ones that I described other than the Hawaiian Kona Gold, I had friends that brought it for Hawaii all the time back then, I love seeing your savvy, keep those broadcasts coming, this is John D. Kavanaugh Jr signing out, it's got to be 4:20 somewhere, thanks Catherine Goldberg, you're a sweetie 👋✌️in👋.
That was a great article Catherine. Back in the early 70's weed was grown, dried and packed on location. The (on location) is a hard thing to replicate, even in a proper grow opperation or back yard even with great seeds. You can still get some fantastic product from" back woods" out of the way farmers in Mexico or Columbia, but you'll have to bring a machette to get through the overgrowth to get there. lol. You just can't take it with you or try to replicate it from seed. Same goes for the once "Lumbo". I found that the last place I could get nice weed was Jamaica, but unfortunately that's not the case any more and that was back in the 70's. Folks, Be well. Please pay attention to the petrochemical terpines that some use to accentuate a certain strain. Or, on your favorite weed. Inhaled petrochemicals can cause you a nasty problem. And the Government really doesn't care, although they will say that they do. You can tell that from a last Biological mishap.
I do miss the happy times , you could be high and still go to work ,drive not act goofy around your parents . today's smoke doesn't even come close . even the brick smoke was better than today , o yea it could be seedy and have some stems but at ten dollars for a four or finger bag . it was well worth every penny . I wish they could bring the old stuff back so us older heads could have some more happy times again . and maybe a few holes in my shirt for a seed or two .😎
I used to love thai stick wow if that could be found again, but I have recently stumbled onto some weed it's from good supply its called inzane in the membrane, I was totally shocked no tieredness not chaseing the high just feels good for a change.
Back Home Cannabis has Acapulco Gold which I quite enjoyed but it’s their Maui Wowie that makes my toes curls.
What I have not seen since 1989 is Chocolate Thai Stick.
Ah, but I was so much older then I’m younger than that now
Excellent
Funny thing last winter I bought Acapulco gold and Panama red seeds just to remember the high…they are doing nicely right now…good article.
